Jaquira Anderson - UCY Intern Fall 2022

Greetings UCY Chairman Eric Ball and UCY Board of Directors 2022! My name is Jaquira Anderson & I am 19 years old. I just graduated high school this year in June, & I am currently in college now. I am in college majoring in biology to become a medical examiner. If you want to do anything in the medical field, I suggest you take up biology!! You learn a lot of interesting things about the human body.

Over the years I have been making shows for UCY, I have learned a lot. I’ve learned that my voice is important most of all. I never knew how much of a gift a voice can be. My voice was heard throughout the face of Los Angeles, Ca & I was stunned!! One day Tommy texted me on how my show aired on Los Angeles Radio! I was extremely blessed to have that opportunity to help kids be interested/motivated in radio shows. Just by listening to what I was discussing on the show, maybe you’ll be tempted to think about your own topics you may want people to learn about & hear.

I’ve also learned a lot about the topic Critical Race Theory, how to interview people & record & edit a show. I didn’t know I could read that fluently with very minor mistakes! That’s why it’s good to try out new things because you never know what hidden skills or talents you may have that you don’t know you have! It was such an amazing experience for me & a good pay! It was something new that I’ve never tried before. At first I thought it was going to be difficult, but it was pretty easy. Always try out new things, Even if they seem difficult. But everything that I did & learned was a brilliant experience & I’ll do it over & over again if I could!
